You are cordially invited to The distinguished international guests for the Chinese-U.S. Sculpture Garden, as the “first phase” of the International Sculpture Garden.

The ceremony will commemorate Chinese settlement in the U.S. for the past 100 years. It will also create a new arts garden by combining Eastern and Western culture for international culture exchange, bring people together, and educating the generations to come.

In July 2010, fans from China initiated the plans to erect a statue In Memory of Michael Joseph Jackson.   A contribution of $25,000 U.S. Dollars was raised among the Chinese Fans (MJJCN.com) and Hong Kong Fans (The Michael Jackson Union) within the month of August 2010, to fund this project.

The casting was completed at the end of Calendar Year (CY) 2010.   With approval from the local authority, a ceremony was held to unveil and display this statue in the Sculpture Park, Guangzhou, China on January 1, 2011.

A duplicate statue has been built and donated by the Chinese Sculptor, Mr. Lu Zengkang for the Sino-US Culture Art Exchange Program.   Mr. Lu, who had previously casted the statue for former Chinese Chairman Tang, has planned this program for five (5) to six (6) years.

It has been finally approved by the Kansas Municipal Government who permitted the Sino-U.S. Culture Sculpture Park to be built in the Overland Park Arboretum Botanical Garden.   This program has also received much support from the Public Affairs Section, U.S. Consulate Guangzhou, China and the Chinese Consulate General in Chicago.

The Sculpture consists of thirteen (13) pieces contributed by five (5) Chinese and three (3) American sculptors.   Eleven (11) pieces from China, including Michael’s Statue, have now been shipped to United States.
